True fitness is a total body and mind state of being. You can go to the gym and exercise every day but if you don’t work on improving the health in other areas of your life your fitness level won’t improve. To be truly fit you need to nourish your body with good food and make smart lifestyle decisions as well as exercise regularly. Of course, regular exercise is still very important to your overall fitness. Work with a person who knows what he or she is doing, be practical and practice common sense: eventually your fitness level will be quite high!

It is equally important, however, that you acknowledge that fitness involves your brain just as much as it involves your body. That said, here are a few ways that you can increase the level of your fitness.

Make better and healthier lifestyle choices. You should not smoke. Cut down on the alcohol. Drinking and smoking are nasty habits by themselves but if you keep them up while you try to get healthier you won’t get anywhere. Smoking is terrible for your body and it will keep you from being able to properly work out. Drinking wreaks havoc on your liver and decreases your energy level.

Besides that, drinks made with alcohol are packed with calories. Just working off the calories you consume from alcohol could take up your whole workout! Why would you do that to yourself?

It is possible to get in a full workout without having to spend hours at the gym. Elliptical trainers and rowing machines provide full body workouts with a single activity. You only need to spend twenty minutes on one of these machines to tone and train your whole body. If you have had the opportunity to travel much, you will have undoubtedly stumbled across some of those people who have the knack of being rude and obnoxious, making the entire airline experience miserable for everyone around them, including the crew aboard the flight. Maybe your parents taught you differently, and explained that you should be considerate of your fellow passengers when you travel. If that’s the case, then you would need a few tips on how to become a rude traveler. So here are a few to get you started.

Never be prepared at the ticket counter

If you really want to cause trouble at the ticket counter, keep your photo ID in your billfold until the last possible second. Forget about the fact that there is probably a long line of people waiting behind you. Whine for a little while to the ticket agent that you aren’t getting an aisle seat, in spite of the fact that you didn’t make a reservation until two days before the flight. If you are checking luggage, make sure that one of the pieces weighs more than 50 pounds, so you’ll have the opportunity to open it up and remove a few items before the airline can accept it. All of these little actions take extra time, which will test the patience of everyone anxious to check in.

Never be prepared at the security check-in.

Even though there are about a gazillion signs instructing you to remove your shoes and take your laptop computer out of its case before going through the metal detector, just ignore them, and wait until you receive those same directions verbally from the security agent behind the x-ray machine. Again, paying no attention to the rules is another way of slowing the process down for everyone.

When boarding the plane, act like you’re the only one that matters.

As you finally board your flight, make sure to carry your computer bag over your shoulder as you work your way down the aisle. This way, it has a chance to hit the face of about everyone already seated. If you are assigned to a middle seat, but find that the aisle seat in your row is vacant, go ahead and sit there, and make the true owner ask you to move when he/she finally arrives. Talk on your cell phone as long as you can, until a crew member has to personally confront you about turning it off.

During the flight, spread out a little bit.

In spite of the fact that airplane cabins are typically a place to find a lot of people in a small space, make yourself comfortable. Use both of the arm rests on the seat, making the other guy fold his elbows in like a contortionist. Stretch out your legs so that one of your feet is usually in the middle of the aisle.

Talk to someone who seems completely disinterested.

Forget about the notion that some people would like to take the hours spent on the flight to sleep or just read a novel. Strike up a conversation about your grandchildren, your last fishing trip, or how much you hate the guy in the next cubicle at work. Pay no attention to the fact that your fellow passenger is not responding to your dissertation. Just keep talking throughout the whole trip.

Follow these hints, and you’ll be famous during your next flight.

Many individuals are intimidated by any task which requires them to look at the “guts” of their machine. The components that make up the motherboard and other machine hardware, however, have become so modular in their design that most people would have little difficulty in replacing any of the primary components of the computer. Memory is one of the components that are the easiest to replace. One of the most vital components of all, computer memory is also among the most inexpensive and fastest to upgrade. End users should have no problem with this operation.

To replace computer memory, one first locates the existing memory on the motherboard. On a PC, all memory must be of the same size. One cannot, for instance, add a 1GB memory board to a computer and then add a 2GB board to a different socket. Most often, users who upgrade choose to buy the largest amount of memory that can be held by their computer and to install that amount on every socket. This is usually the best way to make sure the replacement memory will remain useful for the entire lifetime of the machine.

Computer memory simply pops out and in to the sockets designed to hold it. There are no special tools required beyond those required to open up the case. Most often, the memory will be found sitting perpendicular to the motherboard in a series of sockets which are lined up in a row. To remove the existing memory, one usually depresses two tabs which hold the memory in place. This will release the memory and elevate it slightly out of the socket, which makes it very easy to remove. The new memory is gently slid into place, at a slight angle, until it clicks tight in the socket.

Once the computer memory is seated, it is tested by simply booting up the machine. The machine will perform a self-test operation before it boots the operating system. If the memory is bad or improperly installed, the computer will either fail to power up or will display a BIOS warning message that there is an issue with the memory. Sometimes, it takes a few tries to get down the technique of inserting the memory into the motherboard. If there is an issue, try taking the memory out and replacing it before giving up on the computer memory replacement job.

Free-weights vs machines, which is better? Well, machines have their purpose, and free-weights do too. However, if you are interested in building some quality muscle mass, it is almost ALWAYS better to go with free-weights over machines

Why? The main reason is because free-weights require complete strength and coordination of the weight, so your muscles are forced to work harder. If your muscles are working harder, then typically this results in more growth. If the motion of the exercise is supported and guided through its path, such as with machines, then your muscles have much less stress when lifting the weight.

When you train with free-weights, your body must adapt to the range of motion on its own. This explains why even with what you would consider light weight you may initially find a new type of exercise challenging. Since your muscles have to adapt to this range of motion, you develop a more overall solid level of strength, resulting in of course bigger strength gains which means bigger muscles.

This is not to say that machines are altogether useless for gaining muscle mass. Many machines do in fact allow you to work out in different angles that free-weights cannot, so in many cases they do have their purpose. However, if you are like most people and want to build muscle mass as fast and efficiently as possible, I’ll get right to the point:

STICK TO FREE-WEIGHTS!

Gaining strength in barbell and dumbbell exercises, especially compound exercises such as squats, deadlifts, bench presses, bent-over rows, shoulder presses and a few others will always build much more solid, hard, muscle mass then machines, period. A muscle mass building workout MUST contain mostly free-weights.

If you have been using mostly machines for a while and havn’t seen any results worth bragging about, then perhaps this is where the fault is. I would suggest that if you wanted to focus on strictly building muscle mass and strength as fast as possible that you stick to using free-weights exclusively.

In a nutshell, machines are good for pumping and isolation exercises, and free-weights are for gaining muscle weight fast and packing on serious pounds of muscle in record time. If you are a true hardgainer and have a really hard time gaining weight and building muscle mass fast, then it is absolutely vital that you stick with mainly free-weights, most of the major compound exercises, eat plenty of clean food emphasizing on protein and carbs, get plenty of rest, keep your workouts short and simple, and to be careful not to overtrain.

With these key factors in mind, you should have no trouble gaining weight and building muscle mass as as fast as naturally possible.

The idea came about from wanting to do the same exercises as surfers and paddlers do to become as fit as they are. I didn’t have the room to put the canoe, the surfboard, the stand up board and the paddles in the apartment I live.
