Good Points:

1)Excellent Grip:-When you’re swinging a baseball bat, grip is obviously one of the most important factors.  You don’t want the bat to go flying out of your hands or to affect your batting.  These Rawlings 1050 Workhorse Batting Gloves have excellent grip and make the bat feel like it’s stuck to my hand.  Of the batting gloves I’ve tried so far, these definitely have the best grip.

2)High Quality Padding:-Another thing that impressed me about these Rawlings 1050 Workhorse Batting Gloves was the quality of the padding.  Some of the batting gloves I’ve used previously have left my hands and wrists feeling a little sore after games and caused blisters.  However, these Rawlings 1050 Workhorse Batting Gloves are really great shock absorbers and I really noticed the difference the Rawling’s Dura Plus Pad made. My hands feel perfect after games, even when the pitcher’s had a really strong throw.

Bad Points:

1) Stitching:-My only complaint with the Rawlings 1050 Workhorse Batting Gloves is that the stitching is not the best quality.  It’s not terrible and they haven’t fallen apart completely but some of the stitching has come loose a couple of times in the 6 months that I have owned the gloves and my wife has had to re-sew it.  Whilst having to re-sew them once every three months is not a massive issue, I did expect better quality stitching from these batting gloves.

Summary:

Performance wise, theseRawlings 1050 Workhorse Batting Gloves are excellent.  They give you maximum grip on the bat and do a really good job of protecting your hands.  The loose stitching is a little annoying but I can live with it since I’m not doing the stitching and they are relatively low priced.  However, if you want a batting glove that requires no re-stitching you may have to spend a little more cash and get a higher priced glove.

Good Points:

1) Durable:- One of the first things that surprised me about the Mizuno Prospect GPP901 Youth Baseball Glove (in a good way) is that it’s very durable and built using high quality materials.  I’ve had a few bad experiences with kid’s gloves in the past and found that a lot of them are not built to the same high standards as adult gloves.  As a result they often fall apart and become useless after a couple of months.  When I saw this one was aimed at children aged 6 and below I had my doubts but thankfully these doubts vanished once I inspected the glove for the first time.  My kid has had it for five weeks now and plays with it most nights but it’s not showing any signs of wear and tear at all.  In fact it still looks as good as it did on the day it arrived.

2) Good Fit:-Another great plus point of the Mizuno Prospect GPP901 Youth Baseball Glove is that it fits my kid’s hand perfectly.  I’ve found that a lot of baseball gloves aimed at young children are never small enough and then this has a negative impact on my kid’s ability to catch the ball.  With this glove he’s never been happier and his catching and confidence have improved no end.

Bad Points:

1) Stiff:- Overall I really liked the Mizuno Prospect GPP901 Youth Baseball Glove.  The only small criticism I had is that it’s a little stiff and difficult to close for very young children.  I have two boys – a 5 year old and a 3 year old.  I bought this glove for the 5 year old and he can close it no problems.  However, my 3 year old has tried it a couple of times and can’t really close the glove.

Summary:

I was really impressed with the quality of the materials used in the Mizuno Prospect GPP901 Youth Baseball Glove and I can see my kid outgrowing it rather than wearing it out which is the way it should be.  Functionally, it does everything it needs to and my kid tells me this is the best baseball glove he’s ever had.  If you’ve got really young children (3 or below) I would recommend looking around for baseball gloves that are a bit easier to close but if your kid is between 4 years and 6 years old and loves baseball then I recommend you get them this glove.

 2) Perform Well:-Another great thing about these Men’s Under ArmourHeatGear Long Compression Short Bottoms is that they perform extremely well.  I very rarely feel any moisture in the shorts, even if it’s an intense baseball game and I’m sweating buckets.  The anti-odor technology also works pretty well and I find that they don’t stink up my kit bag.  More importantly, I’ve experienced absolutely no chafing when wearing these compression shorts.  Some of the other compression shorts I’ve tried in the best have caused minor chafing so I’m really glad that these Men’s Under ArmourHeatGear Long Compression Short Bottoms are chafe free.

Bad Points:

1) Not Very Durable:-My only criticism of the Men’s Under ArmourHeatGear Long Compression Short Bottoms is that they aren’t very durable and normally last three months at the most before they rip.  When you consider that the cheapest pair of Men’s Under ArmourHeatGear Long Compression Short Bottoms costs $18.99 you can see how constantly replacing these shorts every three months can become a little pricy.

Summary:

In my opinion theseHeatGear Long Compression Short Bottoms are an essential piece of kit for anyone who plays baseball or participates regularly in any other type of physical activity.  Whether it’s team sports, running or the gym, you need to get a pair of these shorts.  Before I started playing baseball, I used to wear regular shorts for the gym and thought they were fine.  However, after starting to wear these HeatGear Long Compression Short Bottoms for the gym the difference was instantly noticeable.  The fact that they have to be replaced regularly is annoying but even when you factor in the extra cost of buying new shorts I still highly recommend these Men’s Under ArmourHeatGear Long Compression Short Bottoms.

 2)Strong:-Another thing I really liked about the Macgregor Batting Tee is that it’s very strong.  I’ve given it a few whacks and my kids have given it a pretty intense beating in the six months that we’ve owned it but so far it’s showing minimal signs of wear and tear.  I’ve owned cheaper tees in the past that have fallen apart after just one strong mishit so I’m really impressed with the strength of this one.

Bad Points:

 1) Heavy:-There’s not a lot I didn’t like about the Macgregor Batting Tee.  The only small criticism is that it’s a little heavier than some of the other batting tees and this does make it a little more difficult to carry around.  However, the extra weight is needed to ensure that it’s stable and doesn’t topple over and it’s not so heavy that I can’t carry.  Overall the benefit of the added stability is far greater than the slight inconvenience that the extra weight causes when carrying it around.

Summary:

This Macgregor Batting Tee is a fantastic product and gives you everything you need from a batting tee.  It’s stable and never topples, no matter how bad you are at hitting.  It’s also extremely strong – if you’ve got kids they won’t be able to break this.  It is slightly heavier than some of the other batting tees on the market but this extra weight is necessary to prevent it from falling over.  All in all it’s one of the best batting tees I’ve tried and I would highly recommend it – especially if you’re looking for a batting tee that’s kidproof.

Bad Points:

1) Wear Out Quickly When Wet:-I absolutely loved these Macgregor 79P Leather Practice Baseballs and honestly there wasn’t a single thing I didn’t like about them.  However, when I review products I always try to find at least one negative to give the review balance so if I was really looking to poke holes in the product then I would say that they don’t respond well to water.  Whilst they generally hold up well I noticed that when they get wet this is not the case and they break down rather quickly.  However, the chances of this actually happening are very small.  As I said above, I’ve had these balls for just over one year and I think in the time I’ve been using them only two balls have ever been hit into a puddle.

Summary:

Overall these Macgregor 79P Leather Practice Baseballs are the bees knees.  Whether you are a baseball coach or you simply want a few practice balls to use in the back garden with your kids, these are perfect and at just over $2 a ball you can’t go wrong.  If you don’t have a set already get on Amazon right now and order some.  You won’t regret it.

They’re too light and I feel you benefit as a player in the long term by using either regular baseballs or leather practice baseballs (which are a very similar weight to the real thing).  This machine allows me to practice with my preferred type of ball and use them during my coaching too.

2)Portable:-Another thing I really liked about the Louisville Slugger UPM 45 Blue Flame Pitching Machine is that it’s extremely easy to move around.  I’m a baseball coach for a local kid’s team so I take it with me to practice every week.  I also set it up and pack it down in my back garden a few times each week so thatme and my kids can practice together.  Since it doesn’t require any electricity and it’s very lightweight, moving it around is a breeze.  Setting it up and packing it down is also very straightforward and probably takes me 10 minutes at the most.

Bad Points:

 1) Accuracy:-The only semi-negative I can think of when using the Louisville Slugger UPM 45 Blue Flame Pitching Machine is that it’s not that accurate.  The reason I said semi-negative is because I don’t personally see this as a problem but I know it might bother other people.  The pitching’s not massively inaccurate but it does go to a slightly different area each time.  I find this is beneficial because a real pitcher never throws to the same area each time so it is more realistic and it teaches the kid’s I coach to be more selective with their hits.  However, if you are expecting to get the pitches in the same place each time, the Louisville Slugger UPM 45 Blue Flame Pitching Machine is going to disappoint you.

Summary:

As a coach I love the Louisville Slugger UPM 45 Blue Flame Pitching Machine.  It’s easy to carry to practice, set up and pack down, it gives my arm a rest from pitching and it provides a really realistic simulation of pitching by allowing me to use leather baseballs and by throwing the ball in different places each time.  It gets a big thumbs up from me and I would highly recommend it to any baseball coach.

Good Points:

1)Material:-The main thing I like about the Louisville Slugger MLB180 Natural Wood Baseball Bat is the material.  I’ve always preferred wooden bats over aluminumbats and play in a wooden bat league every weekend.  Although this material is less forgiving I enjoy the challenge of hitting the sweet spot.

 2)Light:-Another great thing with the Louisville Slugger MLB180 Natural Wood Baseball Bat is that it’s pretty light for a wooden bat.  Whilst I accept that wooden bats are always going to be heavier than aluminum bats, some wooden bats are so heavy and cumbersome that they have a really negative effect on your swing.  As far as wooden bats go, this is one of the lightest I’ve tried and I can get a really good swing on it.

 3)Low Price:-It’s a fact that wooden bats all eventually break and need to be replaced so price is very important to me when selecting a bat.  I can’t afford to be shelling out $50 or more every time my bat breaks so I was really happy when I found this Louisville Slugger MLB180 Natural Wood Baseball Bat for less than $30.

Bad Points:

 1) Breaks &Needs To Be Replaced:-As I said earlier in this review, I’m a huge fan of wooden bats and prefer them massively over aluminum bats so I accept the fact that wooden bats break.  I personally don’t have a problem with this but if I was forced to say a negative thing about Louisville Slugger MLB180 Natural Wood Baseball Bat then it would be that wooden bats break and need to be replaced.  In terms of strength and durability aluminum bats definitely have the edge.

Summary:

The Louisville Slugger MLB180 Natural Wood Baseball Bat is a fantastic, lightweight, low priced wooden baseball bat.  If you are a fan of aluminum bats then you are probably not going to like this bat but if you use wooden bats regularly you will love it.  It’s definitely one of the best wooden bats I have played with and also one of the cheapest.

Good Points:

1)Saves Time & Space:-The first thing I liked about this Easton Sports Equipment Tote Bag is that it saves me time and space.  I can fit a few baseballs, my gloves, my shoes and my bats comfortably inside the bag.  When I go for baseball I don’t have to waste any time looking for these items as I know they’re all in my bag.  It’s also a great space saver having all my baseball stuff in one bag as I can hang it on a hook in my garage instead of leaving it all scattered around on my garage floor.

 2)Stays Clean:-Another good thing with the Easton Sports Equipment Tote Bag is that the metal fence clip stops it getting dirty.  You might not think this is a big deal as you expect sports bags to get dirty but a lot of the time I forget to hang it in the garage and leave it lying around the house.  Having a sports bag that stays clean keeps my carpets clean and stops me getting in trouble with the wife which is a very big benefit in my book.

 3)Stops Me Losing My Keys & Wallet:-Another thing I thought was fantastic with the Easton Sports Equipment Tote Bag was the internal valuables pocket.  I’m forever losing my keys and wallet and constantly misplace them in my own home.  It’s great to have somewhere I can put them and then just forget about them during baseball practice.

Bad Points:

 1) A Little Small:-The only thing I felt could have improved with Easton Sports Equipment Tote Bag is the size.  As I said above, my baseballs, bats, gloves and shoes can all fit comfortably inside the bag.  However, fitting my baseball helmet in is a little trickier.  It can be done but it requires careful packing and it is a bit of a hassle so I generally just carry my baseball helmet outside the bag.

Summary:

Overall, I thought this was a fantastic bag.  It would have been perfect if I could easily fit my helmet inside too but that’s just a small quibble.  It holds everything I need it to, makes preparing for baseball practice much quicker and saves space in my garage by having all my baseball essentials in one small space.

Good Points:

1) Portable:- One of my favorite things about these BSN Orange Throw Down Bases is that since they weigh just 4 pounds I can take them anywhere.  I have a local park that is just 10 minutes’ walk away and it’s great being able to pick these bases up whenever the weather is nice, walk down and get an impromptu game of baseball on the go.  Another great thing about these bases being so light is that the kids can carry them which saves me the job of taking them to and from the garden each day.

2) Flexible:-Another great thing about these BSN Orange Throw Down Bases is that they are very flexible and can be adjusted to suit the age of the people you are playing with.  When me and my family play it together we set up a small diamond as we have a 3 year old and a 5 year old.  However, when I play baseball with my friends we set up a much larger diamond.  It’s really good to have this flexibility and not have to own two sets of bases.

3) Very Good Price:-When I bought these BSN Orange Throw Down Bases they were just $9 on Amazon and at that price you really can’t go wrong.  They’re made of high quality, durable material, they’re functional and they’re the cheapest set of bases I’ve managed to find.

Bad Points:

 1) Slippery:- The main problem I had with these BSN Orange Throw Down Bases is that they’re a little bit too slippery.  My kids have never lost their footing when using them but when we’ve had a big game going I’ve seen a few of the older and larger kids go flying.  Me and my friends have also took a tumble once or twice when using these bases.  You can get around this by simply running around the bases instead of running on them but it is slightly annoying having to do this.

Summary:

These BSN Orange Throw Down Bases are perfect for casual baseball players.  If you are looking to play baseball with your family or start playing with your friends down at the local park they are ideal.  They do sometimes slip from under your feet but for the amazingly low price of $9 this is a consequence I am willing to live with.

2) Strong:-Another plus point with the Bow Net Baseball/Softball Big Mouth Portable Net is that it’s very strong and stable.  It comes with some anchor pegs but I’ve never had to use them, even when the wind is really strong.  I’ve also slugged some really hard balls into the net but so far I’ve not been able to topple it.

Bad Points:

1) Net Seams:-The only problem I’ve had with the Bow Net Baseball/Softball Big Mouth Portable Net is that the net seams aren’t that strong.  The seams on the net that came with it broke after the first month and I had to pay for the net to be re-sewn.  Since I had it re-sewn it’s been fine but I was a little surprised to see the net hanging off after only one month of usage.

Summary:

Overall I was very impressed with the Bow Net Baseball/Softball Big Mouth Portable Net.  I was initially a bit disappointed when the net came off so quickly but the rest of the product more than makes up for it.  The fact that it’s so portable is great for me because I can easily flip between using it for coaching and using it in my own back garden and the fact that I’ve never seen it fall over is another plus point.  If you are coaching, training or even just getting a little practice in your back garden, I would highly recommend this product.
